My background & approach

I offer a steady, evidence-informed space where we can learn to live alongside change together.

Hi! I’m Jessica Landry, a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of The Golden Canopy. I hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa and am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

My work focuses on grief and loss, caregiving and the life transitions that can leave us wondering who we are now.

I came to this work because I know personally that grief doesn’t simply disappear because time has passed. There can be a point when the intensity changes, life begins to function again, and yet the loss remains part of you.

That experience has shaped the way I work with clients. I don’t believe in rushing people toward closure or trying to find a way to make every loss feel okay.

I am calm and down to earth, which shines through in my role. I love connecting to nature and finding new ways to stay grounded and focus on the present.

I truly look forward to meeting you. I am grateful that our paths have crossed!

My areas of focus

  • Grief & Bereavement
  • Caregiving & Caregiver Grief
  • Loss & Life Transitions
  • Other Profound Losses

My therapeutic frameworks

I draw from several approaches to shape our work around you.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic frameworks, approaches, and interventions depending on the person, their experiences, and what feels most helpful in our work together. While there are many ways I may approach our work, these are some of the frameworks that most often inform my practice:

  • Attachment-based Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Mindfulness-Based Techniques

  • Somatic Therapy

Free 15-minute consultation

Let’s start with a conversation.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Complete this short form to request a free 15-minute consultation, and I’ll follow up so you can tell me a little about what is bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

Use digits and standard phone punctuation such as +, spaces, parentheses, periods, or hyphens.

You can briefly share what is bringing you to therapy and let me know whether you would prefer that I contact you by phone or email.

Please avoid including highly sensitive medical or personal information in this initial form.

Submitting this form does not create a therapist-client relationship with me. I can discuss my current availability and whether my services may be a good fit with you during our initial contact.

Practice Notice: While digital resources are openly accessible, I conduct all active psychotherapeutic sessions, intakes, and consultations strictly in English.
